External-acceptance is highly sought after.
We want to be seen by others. We want to be heard by others. We want to be accepted by others. We want to be acknowledged by others.
But external acceptance is ephemeral.
Self-acceptance is usually not highly sought after…but should be.
To accept yourself—despite whether other people accept or reject you—is withstanding, invaluable, inner-peace-giving, and strengthening.
Most people want to be accepted by others, and this is okay.
But as a reminder: external acceptance is NEVER guaranteed.
The only thing that is guaranteed is self-acceptance.
If you don’t accept who you are now, it’s time to dig deep and ask yourself some questions:
Do I love myself? If not, why?
Do I love my life? If not, why?
Do I love the way I look? If not, why?
Do I love the decisions I have made to date? If not, why?
Am I content with who I am today? If not, why?
Am I content with the way I am living? If not, why?
