Become Immune To Negative People, Thoughts, Attitudes, and Ideas
Master filtering out negativity
People Are The Biggest Source Of Negativity
Some negative people you can remove from your life. Others are permanent or temporary residents.
We won’t always be able to control the negativity we’re exposed to, but we can control how we respond.
Someone I see about every month is super intelligent but also highly negative (and they’re fully aware of this because we have conversations about it).
They frequently mention everything wrong within society, and they know all the intricate details. It could be overwhelming to listen to, and the average person would leave their presence with a dark cloud over them.
You might ask why they’re still in my life. It’s a mutually beneficial relationship, and they’re constantly dropping knowledge, but when the conversation goes south (aka negative), I listen, but I emotionally check out.
Once I leave their presence, it’s almost as if the negative parts of the conversation never happened.
Become skilled at shaking negativity out of your mind.
It took me a while to get to this point, though.
In previous years, I would adopt the thoughts or emotions of negative people, which infiltrated my life unproductively.
When someone has a negative view of something or someone, let them hold onto that, but it doesn’t mean you need to engage or respond every time to them.
Just as most of us don’t consume spoiled meat, we must ensure we don’t consume spoiled attitudes, ideas, thoughts, and information.
One of the best ways to filter out negativity is to avoid watching the news, utilize social media infrequently and intentionally, and minimize your interactions with negative people.
Then you’re left with one last potential negative source, and that’s you, which is entirely within your control.
