There was a project I had to complete over a short amount of time recently.
In exchange for completing the project, I had to compromise several areas of my life, which was dissatisfying.
But managing the continuation of those efforts at full capacity while working on attaining this goal would require me to overextend myself too far.
I knew it would be temporary, which helped me process the temporary loss in progress in other areas.
Though I had to give up some areas of my life temporarily, there were a few things I was unwilling to compromise on, which included:
Yoga
Meditation
Sticking with my diet plan
Walking several times a day
Reading personal development books
Everything else went out the window.
These activities contribute to my emotional, mental, spiritual, and physical well-being, and I consider them all critical components necessary to maintain during a working sprint.
What’s the point of accomplishing a goal if you compromise too much of yourself, your health, and your well-being in the process?
Key Takeaway: In pursuing your goals, never compromise too much of yourself in the process.
