What is your gold? It could be any of the following or other things not listed below (define and write those things down now, so you can realize how long your list is, and you don’t end up knowingly sh*tting on your gold):
Your life and every breath you take
Your home
Your method of transportation
Your income source(s)
Your family and relationships
The food you can eat
A promotion
Your freedom and power of choice
The clothes on your back and in your closet
Your pets
The gifts and talents you possess
The ability to move, walk, feed, and dress ourselves
The freedom to drive
The freedom of choice
The ability to quit your job and get another one
The ability to use the senses you possess: taste, smell, hear, touch, see
What other gold do you have in your life? There is a scripture in the great book that says, “complacency is murder.” Complacency or a lack of gratitude kills and destroys whatever little or however much you have.
People become so enraptured into attaining what they don’t have, they forget to appreciate the beautiful blessings they currently have. Most people consistently sh*t on their gold day in and day out, and you know what happens when you do this? Your gold gets stripped from you, and in return, you drop down to owning silver, bronze, or nothing.
Don’t shit on your gold. Don’t allow complacency and a lack of gratitude to evaporate the extravagant goodness you have in your life. Yes, I use the word extravagant because what we have is extravagant (don’t go by what advertisements and celebrities define as extravagant). Appreciate the tiny little things, and see how it accumulates into more over time. But it first starts with implementing the principles of genuine and consistent gratitude.
Are you sh*tting on your gold?
