Right now, someone in the world has every reason to make an excuse for failing to attain their goal.
They’re going through sh*t you couldn’t even imagine.
But guess what?
They refuse to create excuses because they possess a burning desire to make their goals a reality.
They’re determined to win.
They’re determined to break through all the barriers.
They’re determined to reach the finish line at all costs.
Their grit and drive to make something happen will make you cringe at your excuses.
Exercise
Listen, read, and watch autobiographies and documentaries of inspiring figures to learn what trials and tribulations they faced to arrive at where they are now.
There are two kinds of people in this world:
Doers
Sayers
It’s nice to have dreams.
Most of us have them, but there is no doubt only a few people end up making their dreams a reality.
The reason is because of excuses.
Excuses kill and destroy dreams.
The 5 Traits Doers Possess
What do these types of people have that others don’t?
#1 Accountability.
They keep themselves accountable by reviewing their goals daily.
Not a day goes by where their goals aren’t top of mind.
#2 A Desire For A Better Life
Some of us say we want a better life, but we really don’t. We’re lying to ourselves.
A better life takes effort. Most people don’t want to put the effort in.
The effort is uncomfortable and, at times, painful.
Who wants to feel pain—even if it makes their lives better? Not the majority.
Settling is easier.
The average person enters and leaves this world without significantly contributing to it.
What are you contributing to the world?
What is your impact?
#3 Tenacity, Drive, And Ambition
You can’t put the drive into anyone. They must attain it for themselves.
We all have internal motivators, but some of our internal motivators are unproductive at best and don’t help us make any real-life progress.
Doers have internal motivators that elevate their lives.
They are positively aligned with the actions it will take to bring about the changes they desire to experience.
#4 Ability To Focus
No matter where you go, there will be distractions. There is a never-ending supply.
People and things are constantly trying to gain our attention.
You have to be ruthless about what and who you give your attention; if you’re not careful, you will lose a tremendous time on unworthy people and things.
#5 Incessant Hunger To Learn
The only way to live a quality and higher life is to dedicate time to learning and developing yourself. The more you learn, the more potential power you have.
People who constantly learn eventually start applying what they learn, shifting their approach to everything they do.
There’s something different about certain people. They have a certain air about them.
It’s because they invest much of their time in reading and educating themselves.
What Are Excuses?
Excuses are self-imposed barriers that prevent us from tapping into our limitless potential.
What Are YOUR Excuses?
What excuses have you been telling yourself today, this past week, this path month, this past year, this past decade?
The excuses we often tell ourselves are not even worthy of mentioning. If you dive into the excuses you tell yourself, what is there?
Maybe it’s fear.
Maybe it’s a habit.
Maybe it’s laziness.
Maybe it’s a lack of belief in yourself.
Maybe it’s programmed negative thoughts and beliefs from others or your childhood.
Rewrite The Code
If you’ve been making excuses, it’s time to rewrite your code.
Everything you believe and say to yourself now is creating your future.
In the code of your future, there is no room for excuses.
Excuses create glitches and break down the possibility of progress.
The more excuses (bugs) you remove from your code, your life experience will improve significantly, your performance will increase, and the easier it will be for you to move forward.
So Where Do Excuses Land You?
A dead-end road with unrealized potential that has barely scratched the surface.
