I got tired of being addressed as “guys” when I was in groups, and I felt weird addressing diverse and complex groups of people as simply “guys”.
It’s a simple thing, but y’all or everyone seems to fit better. It’s not exclusive, and it doesn’t perpetuate gender norms.
