Your feelings and thoughts are meaningless without communicating them to your family, friends, coworkers, partner, and people you come across daily.
We’re often scared to upset the people we feel will be negatively affected by what we have to say and feel about something they’re doing that is affecting us!
This is crazy.
If we don’t communicate, how will our relationships do? Not well; they will inevitably fail.
Learn to communicate through the fear, awkwardness, and discomfort of speaking about your thoughts and feelings to the people you come across in your life.
It’s not your responsibility to control how people respond. It’s your responsibility to share with others how you feel. That’s it.
Real Life Example
I remember sitting in my car, scared to go inside my job, because I knew it was the day I would hand over my notice.
I was so scared of how they would react, but I made myself get out of my car, walk in, and hand the notice to my boss.
It was time to go.
Though I had no control over how they responded, I had 100% control of my life and happiness, and that job was no longer providing happiness to my life.
Bye. Bye.
If I had stayed comfortable, I would never have shut the door that needed to be closed to allow another door to be opened.
If you’re not communicating, you’re not elevating.
