Devotion: “Quiet Contemplation allows you to connect with yourself, to remember who you are when the day is done, to ground down and breathe deeply. Save 10 minutes each day to do nothing except spend time in your own company and contemplate your day.”— Cyndie Spiegel
Quiet Contemplation
People often ask me why I enjoy silence. My response is always the same: I love the sound of silence. I love the sound of no noise. I love the sound of quiet reflection. There is power, there is healing, there is awareness, there is enlightenment, and there is growth in quiet reflection. But we often miss out on quiet contemplation because we are so wrapped up in the noise (e.g., media, radio, music, podcasts, tv, etc.).
When is the last time you sat in the stillness of the quiet?
In a world filled with incessant noise, it’s challenging to get away. It’s hard to find peace in a world full of pandemonium. But we must make time because no one else will make the time for us.
Who Am I?
It’s effortless to get wrapped up with our days year in and year out that we forget to stop. When we continue to forget to pause, we lose ourselves — indefinitely.
Ask yourself right now: Who am I?
We are constantly evolving. Even when it seems like we aren’t changing, our desires, likes, dislikes, goals, ambitions, values, priorities, and beliefs evolve. Don’t miss out on the evolution of your being by forgetting to take a moment to pause. Stay present. Stay engaged. Stay in tune with you.
Just Breathe
Often, I forget I’m breathing. I lose consciousness of my breath. I forget to feel my breath. I forget how peaceful listening to my breath is.
The breath always brings me back to my center. The breath keeps me centered. The breath keeps me present. The breath keeps me in touch with my soul. The breath keeps me in touch with my body. The breath keeps me in touch with my feelings. The breath is my cornerstone.
Just breathe.
It’s such a simple task that we often skip. All it takes is a few seconds to sync yourself to your breath. But the benefits, the healing, the peace, the freedom, the perspective, the love, and the stillness that come from taking a moment to breathe are magical. Do it today.
10 Minutes
Be with yourself. Be by yourself. Be quiet with you for 10 minutes at the beginning, middle, or end of each day.
Ask Yourself These Questions In Your Solitude
How does it feel to be in my presence?
How does it feel to be alone?
How does it feel to be me?
Why can we give ourselves everything except the things we need like…
self-care
self-love
self-healing
self-development
self-awareness
self-enlightenment
self-growth
self-motivation
self-forgiveness
self-inspiration
We often miss the mark on giving ourselves the things (tangible and intangible) we genuinely need. But today, you can change that. Give yourself just 10 minutes of beautiful quiet. Notice how you feel after you’re done. Become 100% aware of your feelings. Be one with who you are today. Accept who you are today. And let go of everything that no longer serves you well.
